FAITH: J. S. Bach’s St John Passion, BWV 245

An oratorio concert on Good Friday: Bach lets music speak where words can scarcely suffice, bringing symbolism and musical structure together. Central themes of guilt, suffering and redemption create an emotional fabric that both challenges and sustains the listener, drawing them into the tragedy and mystery of the Passion. Tabea Krause, Maria Pizzuto, Stefan Schneider, Johannes Weinhuber, Michael Albert, Kantorei St. Georg and Oettinger Bachorchester. Conductor: deanery cantor Clara Ernst.

FAITH: Anniversary Service

Without the town council’s resolution, St George’s would not exist. Countless stories linking people to this church would never have been told. We will hear a selection of them during this service. Music is provided by the Knabenkapelle Nördlingen and the ‘Bach Cantata Sing-Along’ project choir. Enjoy choral singing? Bach cantata enthusiasts – and anyone who would like to become one – have the opportunity to take part in the cantata performance. Information from Clara Ernst: clara.ernst@elkb.de.
