Website Delivery and Hosting

When you visit the website, the connection and request data needed to deliver it are processed, in particular your IP address, the time, the requested address and technical information sent by your browser. This supports the delivery, security and troubleshooting of the town’s public information service. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(e) GDPR in conjunction with Article 4(1) of the Bavarian Data Protection Act (BayDSG).

Thomas Emmerling provides the technical operation using server infrastructure from Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany. The parties involved in technical delivery process the connection data required for that purpose. The website is transmitted over an encrypted HTTPS connection.

HTTP access logging is not enabled on this website’s webserver or its associated reverse-proxy routes. Operational and error logs may contain request context when errors occur. They are retained in the system journal for no more than 14 days, subject to a size limit of 100 MiB. There is no visitor analytics, profiling or combination with a user-account database.

Your Choices Stay on Your Device

Filters and saved events are kept in your browser’s local storage so that your explicit choices remain available on later visits. They stay there until you remove them using ‘Clear saved choices’ in the footer or your browser settings. Your last position in the programme list is kept in session storage so that you can return to it from an event page, and is removed when the browser session ends.

Only when you explicitly choose Deutsch or English is that language preference stored locally for 365 days. It is used solely to show your chosen language the next time you visit the general entry page. An automatically detected browser language is not stored. You can reset the language preference at any time using ‘Use browser language’ in the footer. Direct links to German or English content retain their language.

This storage serves only the display and saved-event functions you request. Access to your device’s storage is based on section 25(2)(2) of Germany’s Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act (TDDDG); technical delivery forms part of the public information task described above. The website sets no cookies and includes no analytics or advertising services. Both languages and the programme remain accessible if browser storage is blocked.

Fonts, Images and Town Map

Fonts, images and the town map taken from the programme booklet are delivered with the website. Viewing them does not contact external font or map providers.

Links to OpenStreetMap, organisers and ticket providers open an external website only when you choose to follow them. Their own privacy notices apply there. This programme website has no contact form and does not process ticket orders or payments.

Calendars and Sharing

Calendar files are downloaded directly. A calendar file of your saved events is created in your browser. When you share a link, your device determines which application receives it.

A shared-events link contains the identifiers of the selected events in the part of the address after the # character. That part is not sent to the webserver when you visit the page. Anyone with the complete link can view the selection. Your saved list is not stored on a server for this purpose. Opening a shared list leaves your own saved events unchanged until you explicitly add events to them.

Contacting the Town

If you contact the town by email or telephone, the information you provide is processed to deal with your enquiry. The processing depends on your enquiry and the applicable legal provisions. Further details are available in the town’s department-specific privacy information (German).

Your Rights

Subject to the relevant legal conditions, your rights include access (Article 15 GDPR), rectification (Article 16), erasure (Article 17), restriction of processing (Article 18) and, where applicable, data portability (Article 20). You may object to processing based on Article 6(1)(e) GDPR on grounds relating to your particular situation (Article 21). Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time with effect for the future. Please contact the responsible organisation or the Data Protection Officer.

You may lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Article 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for the City of Nördlingen is the Bavarian State Commissioner for Data Protection: Wagmüllerstraße 18, 80538 Munich, Germany; email: poststelle@datenschutz-bayern.de.

There is no automated decision-making within the meaning of Article 22 GDPR. The website cannot be delivered without the technically necessary connection data; beyond this, you do not have to provide personal information to use the programme.
